Do You See Me Now

For 2023’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Evoca Foundation presents ‘Do You See Me Now?’: 16 ‘portraits’ of women from all over the world who have experienced, witnessed, and survived gender-based violence.

TRIGGER WARNING: Gender-Based Violence

I always get depressed because I am not happy that I cannot care for the children we had together.
My friends sometimes call me and visit me, but the pain is much.

I don’t hate men but I don’t like them around me when they are making advances.

When I discovered Bella Foundation for Child and Maternal Care I was happy that they listened to me and more importantly they were willing to help me by linking me with a partner organisation that coordinates survivor clinics.

To those going through a similar experience, I say this: do not despair. Seek help when you can from qualified persons or an organisation.
